At Stepp Orchard, Ms. Marshall has twice as many Red Delicious trees as McIntosh trees and 1/4 as many  Gala trees as Red Delicious trees. Four times as many Mutsu trees as Gala trees are in the orchard. There are twice as many golden Delicious trees as there are McIntosh and Gala together. The orchard has 4 McIntosh trees. How many apple trees are in the orchard altogether? Explain your approach to the problem.

To create a rock garden, Carlos evenly places fence posts in the ground to form a rectangle. His rock garden will be 36 meters long and 24 meters wide. He puts a post every 6 meters. How many fence posts does he need for his garden?

Callie creates a flower border for her classroom bulletin board. Each paper flower has 6 petals. Callie needs 20 of her lovely flowers to complete the border. She has 55 petals. Does she have enough flower petals to finish the border? If not how many more will she need?

Parker's beanstalk was 3 centimeters high when he measured it on Sunday. By Monday it was 6 cm high. The beanstalk doubles its height every day. What will be the height of the beanstalk by Saturday? Do you think it will be taller than Parker on that day? If not when do you think it will be taller than Parker?
