Garden Math 4-5
At Stepp Orchard, Ms. Marshall has twice as many Red Delicious trees as McIntosh trees and 1/4 as many Gala trees as Red Delicious trees. Four times as many Mutsu trees as Gala trees are in the orchard. There are twice as many golden Delicious trees as there are McIntosh and Gala together. The orchard has 4 McIntosh trees. How many apple trees are in the orchard altogether? Explain your approach to the problem.
( This problem is fictional. Wilbur is sure Stepp Orchard has more trees than this problem represents. Check out the link to Stepp Farms. http://www.steppapples.com/?page_id=43
